Hey - I'd done something similar a few years back with VVVV, attaching an lfo to trigger a frame grab from a video camera over firewire, then putting the resulting images together in aviScript/VirtualDub for some stop motion lovelyness.<br>

Im fairly sure that a grab out of a preexisting video file could be done with many of the FFmpg family. <br>
