(USB/PS2)? Wireless?<BR>Does your keyboard work or is that also frozen?<BR>If it is working try pressing the escape key then moving the mouse.<BR>If your keyboard is working and the escape trick doesn't work open up a new shell (ctrl + alt + f2) and see if dmesg or /var/log/messages sheds any light on the problem.<BR><BR>Thanks<BR><BR>Martin<BR><BR><BR>

It seemed to be a long affair so I left it running and when I came back the screen had frozen. unable to do anything I re-booted but no matter what I do it seems to boot up and the desk top appears but the curser is frozen. I have a disc with Ubuntu 10.04 on it which I downloaded after my freeze up. I should add that I'm not a techno geek, I believe more in the science of footer, I just footer around with things and see what happens. In this case the results are nothing.
