Bob,<br><br>Perhaps that would be a good idea. We could cover basic Linux installs, post OS installation tweaks, installing software using the package manager or from source code and some basic trouble shooting.<br><br>Is this the sort of thing you had in mind?<br>

You can set your computer to check if there's a CD ROM present at<br>
boot-up and use that before the hard disk. That gets done in the BIOS<br>
settings, I'll not try and explain it here because the way it's done<br>
depends on your system.<br>

If it's any consolation I too "upgraded" to Ubuntu 10 and it took ages<br>
and rendered my system completely unusable (ACER laptop). I managed<br>
to salvage some files with a copy of the earlier Ubuntu run from the<br>
CD ROM then reloaded my system with the earlier version from scratch.<br>

Other than that and the lack of proper support by the printer<br>
manufacturers, I've been very happy with Ubuntu.<br>
