I think you're confusing somethings name with a description of what it is.

By the logic of your example (omni + versity) the subject line (or URL) could just as easily be interpreted as something different, e.g. Omniverse + ity.

Perhaps a summary of the pertinent information from the 'About' page would actually describe what this is about, rather than just tell people the name of something, along with a URL.

I don't think it's unreasonable to expect some accompanying text explaining what something is.

As it stands such posts would be difficult for people to find when searching for them in future as there's no supporting text, except the subject line and the URL. It gives people nothing to search on if they can't remember either of these things. They probably wouldn't be searching for them if they could remember either, since that is all the message really contained.

Many people find the list archive a valuable resource. The usefulness of this relies (on a great degree) on the content.

Cheers

Martin

On 22 February 2011 11:19, magnus lawrie <magnus@ditch.org.uk> wrote:

It seems to me the description is in the url (omni + versity), but I
can certainly add some extra text in future. Sorry for any
inconvenience.
Best wishes,
In future would it be possible for you to add some descriptive text
for the
links you provide?

Thanks
