<p class="MsoNormal">I am looking for anyone interested in working on an online framework
for an alternative education group in Glasgow!</p>
<p class="MsoNormal"> </p>
<p class="MsoNormal">I am writing on behalf of the Glasgow
Open School,
a collectively run ‘free school’ based in Glasgow.
GOS is open to anyone to propose collective learning situations and there has
been a lot of exploration recently around the use of knowledge and culture in
our society, around different systems for learning and exploring social
relations and the dominance of capitalism.</p>
<p class="MsoNormal">GOS is always trying to look critically at the systems of
organisation that we use and for that reason are looking to develop a better
way of coordinating our online interactions. At the moment we are using a
Wordpress blog but we hope to develop a platform that will basically amount to
being an online school –one that is run collectively. <br>
We think alternative systems of learning are immediately necessary given the
current attacks on education by the government and the increasing marketisation
of education under the pressure of capitalism. <br>
We are looking for anyone enthusiastic to join us in doing this and also people
with technical knowledge on interactive open-source website building e.g wiki’s
and on-line content creation.<br>
We are open to ideas about how this could work, whether we would work
collectively or simply receive advice.</p>
<p class="MsoNormal">If anyone is interested or has any comments please let us
know. This is something vital to us in our struggles in education.</p>
